The Issue. Yet Again
One person says all of Levitcus or none of it, which I see as untenable. I also see problems with another's approach of picking and choosing which parts of LV apply to Christians today, since who is to decide which passages apply and which don't?
I hate to say it, but I think most of us Chrisitans aren't even aware of the contents of Leviticus. Personally, I think we should leave LV out of the discussion of The Issue.
Maybe we should even leave the Bible out of the discussion on The Issue because I am really tired of the way we argue over it when what I want to do is sink into it and let it shape me. I have been meditating on the Bible every day for decades now, also the Rule of St. Benedict, and recently the principles of Third Society of St. Francis.
As far as I am concerned The Issue devolves into 2 concerns: radical hospitality so there is room for all at the Table of God and my responsibility to love all people as myself. I don'tt need to know if someone is gay or not. And frankly, I am tired of the unseemly speculation into the private affairs of others.
I want room for all at the Table of Our Lord and I must be about my Father's business to love all people as myself. All under the umbrella of lving the Lord my God with every iota of my being.
Here I stand. I can do or say no more.

Dear Jan,
Thank you for your supportive comments. Thank you also for the courage to accept yourself as you are.
I certainly do believe that Christians should behave like Christians but the problem with that is so many have different ideas of what that looks like. I've always thought Auntie Em in the Wizard of Oz was a good role model!!
